Dear Klezmatics Fans,

We hope you are surviving well and finding joy in this most challenging of times, and discovering ways to be with people.

The pandemic has not prevented the band from keeping its creative juices flowing. We presented some wonderful online events, such as The Klezmatics and the Dance Theatre of Harlem (click here to stream), a socially-distanced park concert program for KlezKanada and a series of daily posts of bandmembers’ songs, tunes, photos and stories on our Facebook and Instagram feeds. We also taught in the New York City School system for Midori and friends online, and worked on a new album, which comes out on August 18th!

The band's most adventurous release to date, Letters to Afar contains music composed for Hungarian found-footage artist Péter Forgács’ acclaimed installation of Polish-Jewish historical films sourced from the YIVO Institute. The music is evocative, ambient and by turns psychedelic, meditative and illuminating. This is The Klezmatics as you’ve never heard them – deeply rooted in the traditions of klezmer and experimental avant-garde musics; Klezmatics filtered through Brian Eno, David Torn, Duke Ellington, Morton Feldman and electronica.

AND in this spirit, we again invite you to join our KLEZMATICS FAN CLUB on Patreon where you will get future discounts on this new album and other items.
